Pyeonggojae · Pyeongyejae · Pyeongeumjae · Pyeongyujae Terms of Service
Announced: 2026-11-02 · Effective: 2026-11-09 (adds the shared account across four sites, the Pyeongyejae and Pyeongeumjae subscriptions, the Grand Pass, and the "Art to Keep Close" goods)
About this revision: the changes and the effective date are posted on the Service at least 7 days before they take effect, and subscribers are also notified by email. This revision replaces the Terms announced on 2026-10-30 (effective 2026-11-09).
These Terms are a translation for reference. If the Korean and English versions differ, the Korean version prevails.
1. Purpose
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the online services Pyeonggojae (classics), Pyeongyejae (art), Pyeongeumjae (music) and Pyeongyujae (a home for the three sites) (together, the "Service") provided by Santa Croce Edu Firm (the "Operator"); the payment, cancellation and refund of the paid services (subscriptions and the Grand Pass) and of the "Art to Keep Close" goods; and the rights and obligations of the Operator and users.
2. Definitions
- "Member" means a person aged 14 or older who agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy and creates an account. The Member uses the Service as a reader themselves.
- "Shared Account" means the single member account used across Pyeonggojae, Pyeongyejae, Pyeongeumjae and Pyeongyujae. After signing up on one site, the Member can sign in to all four with the same email and password or Google account.
- "Reader Profile" means a learning space for a reader (nickname and stage) that a Member creates inside their Pyeonggojae account, namely the Member's own Reader Profile and any profile the Member adds for a child as a reader (such a child is a "Child Reader").
- "Child Mode" means a Child Reader using the Service while the Member is logged in, on the Member's device.
- "Thomas" means the AI tutor feature of Pyeonggojae.
- "Free Service" means the parts of the Service available at no charge, i.e. everything except the subscription benefits in Article 7. This includes Pyeonggojae's Daily Classics, the classic character quiz, Hidden Stories of the Classics, reading the originals and lesson 1 of each book's 15-lesson course; Pyeongyejae's artworks and stories; and Pyeongeumjae's listening (5 pieces of each mood result, the first 5 pieces of each curated collection, and 5 pieces of continuous play after one tap) and stories.
- "Subscription" means a paid service that opens the paid benefits of one site: the Pyeonggojae, Pyeongyejae and Pyeongeumjae Subscriptions. Each comes as a monthly or a yearly subscription.
- "Grand Pass" means Pyeongyujae's paid product that opens the subscription benefits of all three sites, Pyeonggojae, Pyeongyejae and Pyeongeumjae. Unless stated otherwise, "Subscription" in these Terms includes the Grand Pass.
- "Goods" means the "Art to Keep Close" products sold on Pyeongyejae: made-to-order items printed with public-domain artworks the Member chooses.
- "Payment Service" means Groble (groble.im), the payment service the Operator uses to collect fees for subscriptions, the Grand Pass and Goods.
- "Production and Delivery Partner" means Marpple (Marpple Corporation), which makes and ships Goods on the Operator's order.
3. Posting and Changes
- The Operator posts these Terms and the Operator's information within the Service.
- The Operator may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law and will post the changes and the effective date at least 7 days in advance (30 days for changes unfavorable to users, such as a price increase), and will also notify subscribers by email.
- A Member who does not agree to a change may cancel the subscription or delete the account before the effective date. Continued use after the effective date is treated as agreement. A price increase, however, applies from the next payment only if the Member expressly agrees.
4. Sign-up
- Only a person aged 14 or older may sign up, using an email and password or a Google account.
- At sign-up, the Member checks separate boxes to agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and an item confirming that they are 14 or older and that, if they add a child under 14 as a reader, they consent as the child's legal guardian to the processing of the child's learning records.
- One account is used across all four sites. There is no separate sign-up per site, and deleting the account deletes it on all four sites.
- Child Readers do not have separate accounts. We do not collect a child's email address or phone number.
5. Reader Profiles and Child Mode
- When creating a Reader Profile, the Member enters only a nickname and stage.
- Child Readers use the Service only in Child Mode. The Member is responsible for supervising the Child Reader's use.
- The Member must not share account credentials with others and is responsible for activity in the account.
6. The Service
- Pyeonggojae provides public-domain classic texts, Korean translations, lesson questions, writing activities, the AI tutor Thomas, the "My Library" learning record, Daily Classics, the classic character quiz and Hidden Stories of the Classics.
- Pyeongyejae provides public-domain artworks and their stories, original-file downloads, and ordering of the "Art to Keep Close" Goods.
- Pyeongeumjae provides public-domain music with recordings that may be used, stories about the pieces and musicians, listening by mood, and curated collections.
- Pyeongyujae shows news from the three sites together and introduces the Grand Pass.
- If a Member turns on app notifications on a device, we send updates by web push. We do not send text messages or KakaoTalk messages.
- The Operator may change features and content to improve the Service and will give 30 days' notice of any change that reduces the core subscription benefits (the table in Article 7).
7. Subscriptions, the Grand Pass and Fees
The subscription products, fees and benefits are as follows (all fees include VAT). The Operator shows the fees and conditions on each site's subscription page.
| Product | Monthly | Yearly | Sites opened | Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pyeonggojae Subscription | ₩3,400/month | ₩29,900/year | Pyeonggojae | Lesson 2 onward of each book's 15-lesson course |
| Pyeongyejae Subscription | ₩3,400/month | ₩29,900/year | Pyeongyejae | 7 original-file downloads per calendar month (Korea time) · 10% off Goods |
| Pyeongeumjae Subscription | ₩3,400/month | ₩29,900/year | Pyeongeumjae | All ten pieces of listening by mood · full curated collections · endless continuous play |
| Grand Pass | ₩6,900/month | ₩59,000/year | Pyeonggojae, Pyeongyejae, Pyeongeumjae | All benefits of the three subscriptions above |
- Unused Pyeongyejae downloads do not carry over to the next month.
- Each product opens benefits only on the sites listed under "Sites opened". All Reader Profiles in one account share the Pyeonggojae Subscription.
- After separately agreeing to the payment terms on the subscription page, the Member pays on the Payment Service (Groble) checkout. The Member must enter the email used to sign up for the Service; the Operator uses that email to confirm the payment and open the subscription on the Member's account.
- A monthly subscription is a recurring payment charged automatically each month; its period of use runs for one month from the day the payment is confirmed. When the next month is paid, the period is extended by one month.
- A yearly subscription is a one-time payment and does not renew automatically. Its period of use runs for one year from the day the payment is confirmed.
- If a site still has time remaining and the Member pays for that site's subscription or the Grand Pass, the new period is added after the remaining period ends. The Grand Pass is added after the remaining period of each of the three sites.
- The Operator opens the subscription without delay after confirming the payment (normally within 1 business day). If confirmation is delayed because the checkout email differs from the sign-up email, the Member may tell us at the contact email and we will handle it at once.
- Payment method details are processed by the Payment Service; the Operator does not receive or store card numbers.
- A Member under 19 needs the consent of a legal guardian to pay for a subscription, the Grand Pass or Goods. If paid without that consent, the Member or the legal guardian may cancel the contract, and the Operator will refund the payment.
8. Cancellation
- The Member may cancel the recurring payment of a monthly subscription at any time in the Payment Service's (Groble's) order lookup or by contacting us. A yearly subscription does not renew automatically and needs no cancellation.
- After cancellation, no further fees are charged from the next payment date, and the Member keeps the subscription benefits until the paid period ends. After the period ends, the Member may pay again to start a new subscription.
- If the Member deletes the account, the subscriptions on all four sites end. The recurring payment must be cancelled separately on Groble; on request the Operator will help cancel it and refund any fee charged after deletion. The remaining period cannot be used after deletion; refunds follow Article 9.
9. Withdrawal and Refunds for Subscriptions
- If the Member has not used the paid benefits opened by a payment even once within 7 days of that payment, the Member may withdraw that payment for a full refund. Use of paid benefits means: for the Pyeonggojae Subscription, opening lesson 2 or later; for the Pyeongyejae Subscription, downloading an original file; for the Pyeongeumjae Subscription, using listening by mood, curated collections or continuous play beyond the free limit (5 pieces); and for the Grand Pass, any one of these three.
- If the Member received the Goods subscriber discount (the difference between the regular and subscriber price) through a Pyeongyejae Subscription or the Grand Pass and then withdraws under paragraph 1, the refund is the subscription fee minus the total Goods discounts received. The refund never goes below ₩0.
- Once the paid benefits have been used after a payment, the supply of digital content is treated as having begun, and withdrawal may be restricted under Article 17(2) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. In that case the Member may cancel; no further fees are charged from the next payment date, and the Member keeps access until the paid period ends. The Operator states this on the subscription page in advance.
- If the Member could not use the Service due to the Operator's fault, the Operator will extend the period of use by the time lost or refund that portion.
- Refunds are processed by cancelling the payment through the Payment Service; depending on the card company, it may take 3–7 business days to appear.
- Refund requests can be sent to info@santacroce.co.kr; the Operator handles them within 3 business days of receipt.
10. Failed Recurring Payments
- If a monthly subscription's recurring payment fails and the next month is not paid, the subscription stops when the period of use ends.
- If the Member pays again, the Operator confirms it and reopens the subscription.
11. Ordering and Delivery of "Art to Keep Close" Goods
- Goods are made-to-order items, made one by one after the order, with artworks the Member chooses on Pyeongyejae. Product types, prices and options are shown on the Pyeongyejae order page.
- Shipping is included in the price of Goods; there is no separate shipping fee (free shipping).
- Members with an active Pyeongyejae Subscription or Grand Pass can buy Goods at 10% off the regular price. If the Member withdraws the subscription after receiving this discount, the discount is deducted from the refund under Article 9(2).
- After signing in, the Member enters the recipient's name, phone number, postal code, address and delivery request, checks the item confirming the made-to-order notice (Article 12), and pays on the Payment Service (Groble). The Member must enter the sign-up email on the checkout.
- After confirming the payment, the Operator has the Goods made and ships them within 7 business days of the payment confirmation. Production and delivery are handled by the Production and Delivery Partner (Marpple).
- If the Operator cannot supply the Goods for reasons such as stock or production problems, it will tell the Member without delay and refund within 3 business days of receiving the payment.
- The Member can check the order status (payment confirmed, being made, shipped, etc.) under "My orders" on the Pyeongyejae order page.
12. Cancellation, Returns and Exchanges of Goods
- Within 24 hours of payment and before production starts, the Member may cancel the order for a full refund.
- Because Goods are made individually to the Member's order, once production has started they cannot be cancelled or returned for a change of mind, under Article 17(2)(v) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The Operator states this on the order page before payment and proceeds with payment only after the Member checks the confirmation item.
- If Goods arrive defective or damaged, or the wrong item arrives, please tell us at the contact email within 7 days of receipt. At the Member's choice, the Operator will exchange them free of charge or give a full refund, and the Operator bears the cost of sending them back.
- Regardless of the period in paragraph 3, if Goods differ from what was displayed or advertised, or the contract was performed differently, the Member may withdraw under Article 17(3) of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce within 3 months of receipt, or within 30 days of the day the Member learned or could have learned of it.
- Refunds are processed by cancelling the payment through the Payment Service, within the times in Article 9(5) and (6).
13. The AI Tutor Thomas
- Thomas's answers and feedback are generated by AI and may contain errors. They are for study reference only, and the Operator does not guarantee their accuracy.
- When Thomas is used, the text a reader enters and lesson information are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- For stable operation, the Operator may limit the number of Thomas messages per hour.
- Please do not enter personal information into Thomas, and supervise Child Readers so they do not enter names, addresses, phone numbers or other personal information.
14. Rights to Content
- The original texts, artworks and musical works are works whose copyright has expired, and the recordings are ones their performers released to the public or licensed for use.
- The Korean translations, questions, explanations, story articles and Service design are the Operator's works and may not be copied, distributed or sold without the Operator's permission.
- Rights to writing by a reader belong to that reader; rights to writing by a Child Reader belong to the child and the Member. The Operator uses it only as needed to provide the Service (storage, display, feedback).
15. User Obligations
Users must not use another person's account or payment method, sell or lend a subscribed account, interfere with the Service, collect or copy content without permission, or act against the law.
16. Restrictions and Account Deletion
- The Operator may restrict an account that violates Article 15 and will tell the Member why. Fees for subscription time lost to a restriction are not refunded where the Member's violation is confirmed.
- A Member may leave at any time using account deletion or by contacting us. Reader Profiles and learning records are deleted with the account; payment and order records are kept for the periods required by law.
17. Limitation of Liability
- The Operator is not liable for damage caused by events beyond its control, such as natural disasters or failures of external services (hosting, authentication, payments, AI, production and delivery), except where the Operator is at fault.
- For the Free Service, the Operator is liable to the extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Disputes and Governing Law
- The Operator receives complaints and requests for redress at the contact email and handles them promptly.
- Users may apply for mediation to the Korea Consumer Agency or the E-Commerce Mediation Committee.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are resolved in the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
